The year is 2283.

Two centuries have passed since the Great War scorched the world with nuclear fire, but life stubbornly persists, even in this toxic world. The Monocacy Valley Wasteland surrounding historic Frederick, Maryland is now an expanse of ruined settlements, radiation-soaked forests, and crumbling industrial relics.

Atomic Dawn was a full-featured airsoft roleplaying game, complete with quests, NPCs, an evolving storyline, a bottle cap economy, player perk cards, a reputation system, and much more.

Participants donned post-apocalyptic clothing and disappeared into character for a day, creating an immersive world full of challenging situations, strange encounters, and harrowing adventure.

Perk Cards

At Atomic Dawn, we introduced our unique perk card system, which gave players access to special abilities within the game. At the beginning of the event, everyone drew three perk cards at random, which could be traded with others. This allowed players to build their characters to have abilities conducive to their playstyles.

Alignment System

In addition to perk cards, every player at Atomic Dawn was given an alignment card printed on a half sheet of cardstock. These alignment cards were stamped by NPCs during the game, indicating a shift in a player’s reputation.

Having low reputation with a faction could get you in trouble. NPCs from an enemy faction were less likely to help you achieve your goals, and could even shoot you on sight if your reputation with an enemy faction was high enough.

The Story

Our dedicated team of roleplayers were at the core of Atomic Dawn’s gameplay. Engaging in activities that ranged from wasteland election interference to dealing blackjack in the Devil’s Due Casino, our NPCs were vital actors that brought the story of Atomic Dawn to life.

The Players

Without the wonderful people who took a chance on Atomic Dawn, the event would never have happened and Demon Core Games wouldn’t be around today.

Thank you for supporting Atomic Dawn!
